CARE OUTSIDE NORMAL OPENING HOURS

If you need to contact a doctor out of our opening hours please call our after hours services on 87246300. If it is an emergency please proceed ASAP to your nearest hospital.

TELEPHONE CALLS

GPs in the practice may be contacted during normal opening hours. If the GP is with a patient, a message will be taken and the reception staff will advise you when it is likely that the GP will return your call. In an emergency your call will always be put through to a GP.

ACUTELY UNWELL

Please notify the receptionist on arrival if you, your baby or child is acutely unwell so you can be triaged by the nurse.

GETTING YOUR RESULTS

Your doctor will advise you when they expect results to arrive at the practice. Generally results are discussed in person unless it is pre arranged with the doctor for certain results like INR on the phone.

REMINDER SYSTEM

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or the receptionist know.

SMOKING POLICY

This practice has a no smoking policy.

REGISTRARS AND MEDICAL STUDENTS

We are a teaching practice and as such we have Registrars on staff and often have medical students sitting with the senior doctors. A Registrar is a fully qualified Doctor who is training in general practice through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. We abide by the 10 National Privacy principles at www.privacy.gov.au/index.html

YOUR RIGHTS

If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. However, if you take the matter further there are several options available including:
